As the global population grows, the demand for good, safe, and nutritious feed ingredients increases. At ProChaete, we are committed to responsibly managing our planet’s limited resources, ensuring high-quality produce within the food chain. Our efforts align with the UN’s global sustainability goals — we need to find new ways to feed the world’s population while protecting our environment.
At ProChaete, we focus on maximising the value of our raw materials. To this end, we ensure that all nutritional value is put to the best possible use, making our production as sustainable and circular as possible. And in every market we serve — whether it’s aquaculture, pet food or poultry — sustainability remains at the core of our approach. We tailor our products to meet the unique needs of each sector.
ProChaete is part of the SeaFresh Group, which makes it possible for us to have complete control of all our raw ingredients and the value chain. This allows us to deliver high-quality feed ingredients while contributing to a more sustainable future. When you buy a product from us for your feed, you can be sure that you get a premium product: functional proteins that are environmentally friendly and will add value to your feed.
We provide sustainable, marine-friendly protein alternatives for aquafeeds. Our ingredients reduce reliance on overfished species and promote sustainable feed sources, protecting marine ecosystems and biodiversity. Additionally, we ensure that all the ingredients are used to their fullest potential.
From our shrimp farm, shrimp products are sent to high end retailer, while shrimp by-products are transformed into Gain PRO and Boost PRO. These additives are used in fish farms. The fish is sold, and the remaining fish by-products are converted into our taste enhancer CEP PRO. CEP PRO is then used in the shrimp feed mill to enhance shrimp feed production.
This circular feed chain minimises waste, and reduces fishmeal dependency, with all products ASC certified for responsible sourcing. A great achievement for us and for our partners involved in this project.
Our products are designed to maximise resource efficiency in feed production. By using alternative protein sources and promoting circular economy practices, your feed will reduce waste and ensure more responsible use of natural resources.
Shrimp by-products often present a waste problem due to quick deterioration, smell, and nutrient loss.
But if harvested quickly, it is a valuable resource. We collect the heads and shells while they’re still super fresh, making it a raw material with high levels of antioxidants and natural pigments. It also has a pro-biotic effect that helps digestion and nutrient intake, providing a healthier feed.
We help to ensure that high-quality proteins remain within the feed production chain. By choosing our safe, nutritious ingredients, you can reduce the need for meat or fish in your feed. Or you can produce premium feed with enhanced nutritional value. Improved feed quality supports healthier ecosystems and contribute to sustainable feeding practices.
Traditional use of polychaetes can be very damaging for the environment. But the polychaete has a tremendous potential, it can transform organic waste into high-quality protein. Their rapid growth rate provides a faster protein source. Packed with essential amino acids and fatty acids, they not only enhance the nutritional value of feed but also improve its taste.
So at Prochaete we have found a way of farming polychaetes that is both sustainable and very nutritious (it can also form a very important part of a circular economy).
We are committed to only use sustainable, ethically sourced materials in all our products.
We strive to reduce waste by designing products and processes that maximise resource efficiency, encourages recycling, and reusing.
We invest in research and development to create innovative solutions that reduce the environmental footprint of our production processes and products.
We reduce the reliance on over-exploited natural resources.
We share our progress and challenges openly at prochaete.com and hold ourselves accountable to high standards.
Through the Seafresh-group we co-fund the construction of a new dispensary in San Bernardo and other sustainable practices that promote economic growth, food security, and environmental practices.
We believe that the challenges ahead of us can only be solved if we work together.
To reach our vision, we need to regularly sets new goals to ensure ongoing progress.
Thank you for joining us in our commitment to creating a more sustainable future. Together, we can build a responsible value chain that benefits our planet, our communities, and the generations to come.
Sincerely,
OddGeir Oddsen
